Translation of Old Documents

Due to the turbulent history of Poland the documents of your ancestors may be written in Polish, Russian, German, or Latin, using both the Latin alphabet and Cyrillic script. It’s also common to come across documents created in historical handwritten scripts that require experience and skill to read. Thanks to my expertise and practice, I can decipher most of these documents and translate their content.

Deciphering Historical Scripts

Old documents are often in poor condition – damaged, faded, or stained. The paper may have been affected by moisture, mold, or decades of storage in basements and attics, causing the letters to gradually disappear, leaving only faint traces of ink. Another challenge is the destruction caused by wars, which affected many archives and family documents. Often, the only surviving records are fragments or pre-war copies. In some cases, illegible handwriting remains a mystery even for specialists. However, I always do my best to extract as much information as possible and uncover valuable details from the document.
